Christmas Jumper Day and Family Activites with Save the Children

Save the Children has a fantastically fun fundraising even going on RIGHT NOW to encourage us all to make and wear a Christmas knit.

CALLING ALL KNITTERS!

Make the world better with a sweater on Friday 13 December by wearing a Christmas jumper for the day and giving £1 or more to Save the Children. Or knit a mini jumper for charity – pattern curtesy of Debbie Bliss.

Pin your mini jumper with pride or hang it on your Christmas tree – then spread the good wool by posting pictures on Twitter and Facebook. Tag Save the Children and use #xmasjumperday so everyone can see your crafty creations.

Or if you’d prefer to knit a full-sized snowman jumper – download the FREE snowman sweater pattern from ‘Merry Christmas Sweaters to Knit’ by Sue Stratford.

Or buy the book – packed with festive designs for the whole family – from your local John Lewis store and at least £2.50 will be donated to Save the Children.

Not a knitter – no problem!

Either decorate your own jumper to join in the Festive fun or buy a suitably knitted Christmas jumper from johnlewis.com who are donating £25 from each jumper bought!

Have a woolly fun day at work on 13th December

Get everyone at work to show some good wool by wearing festive sweaters and raising money together. Or split into teams and compete to see who can reach the highest total.

The power of £1

A donation of just £1 really can make the difference between life and death.

Your money could pay for nine sachets of oral rehydration treatment for children suffering from deadly diarrhoea.

The difference you could make is amazing, so why not team up with friends or colleagues to raise even more?

Reach £95 and you could pay for a midwife’s training to help ensure babies are delivered safely in the poorest parts of the world.

Come on all you yarn-heads – join in and raise some money for Save the Children.

There are also lots of activities going on in London for the whole family:
