My 4KCBW Challenge Completion AND the Liebster Award

Time seems to be slipping through my fingers and seeping away each time I blink. There is just over a week left before we go on holiday and yet the world has not slowed at all. The good news is that I have completed the 4KCBW Challenge I set myself.

The bad news is that I don’t like it. It was an easy knit from the July edition of The Knitter magazine but my sleeves hang too much. So the top is cumbersome to wear. Sigh. I’m not about to re-knit as have no time nor am I about to frog as for the time being that is just too soul destroying (those drop stitches were no fun at the top row!). So I’ll probably wear it on holiday and see what I think afterwards. I may add a girlie ribbon around the top to gather the sleeves a bit.

However to cheer me up,  I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award! Hodge Podge Craft didn’t know how pleased she made me. This was the first award I ever saw in the blogosphere and it was love at first read. What a lovely idea – I don’t know why it is that because it’s called the Lovely Blog Award, in German, it sounds so nice to my ears. Thank you so much Hodge Podge Craft!!

In the time honoured tradition, here are the questions suggested and my answers:

1. What is the best gift you have ever received?

My boys – except I worked so hard for both of them to arrive that the “gift” bit was lost on me for a while.

2. How would your favourite person describe you in 3 words?

Depending which “favourite” person I speak to. Right now, half-way through the summer break, having asked for the umpteeth time for them to stop playing computer and to get out in the fresh air, my teenage son(s) are likely to say bossy, lame and boring. If they’re after extra pocket money, I’m sure the adjectives would be somewhat different.

3. Do you believe in love at first sight?

Oh yes. Most definitely.

4. What is your favourite app and why?

This one is quite difficult. I try hard not to live through Apps but actually do things. However I love the Ebay app as I can always find something interesting and now don’t even need to be near a computer. Financially dangereous.

5. Describe your ‘last meal’ (3 courses, plus drinks)

Olives and Ciabatta, Fish and Chips ,nectarine and apple juice. I skipped lunch, was ready to snap at anyone and everyone on arriving home for low blood sugar, and started grazing before the take away arrived. ‘Nuff said.

Before my list of  nominations, I had to pause for thought on what it actually means to receive the Liebster Award. The origins seem lost in time and the rules certainly flexible. The primary message is around promoting blogs which are new and may not get enough air-time when you’re reading “Blogs I Follow” .

I’m going to nominate eight bloggers and ask them eight questions as being  the number which is half way between 5 and 11 (the number of nominations required in the history of the Liebster Award). Congratulations to you and don’t forget to link-back so we can read your answers!

1. Neoteric Wool

2. Hooky Queen

3. Tinkerbell Knits

4. Knitting Sarah

5. Daniella Joe’s Blog

6. February 12 Blog

7. Ethereal Workshop

8. Mama Flutterby

My eight questions:

1. Knitting or Crochet and why?

2. Cats or Dogs and why?

3. Three items you couldn’t be without on a Desert Island.

4. Do you have brothers/sisters or are you an only child?

5. Why blog?

6. Are you a glass-half-empty or glass-half-full person?

7. Should a man turn the toilet seat down or do you not care?

8. Do you still hand-write letters?

Thank you to Hodge Podge Crafts again!  I’ve had fun with this blog.

Oh wow, what a very big, totally unexpected but GREAT surprise !! I was reading your post and all of a sudden I noticed my blogname!! Thank you so much for considering my blog. I will take a good at this, and I’m very pleased with it! I know some people don’t like these awards because basically they are like chain letters, but personally I love them!
Many thanks and have a nice day.

First of all apologies – I totally forgot to let people know! Doh! It sort of ruins the whole point.

      Secondly – thanks for reading.

Thirdly – Congratulations! I think if you’re going to blog, you should take the rough with the smooth. 😀 I think it’s nice that others think of you. I’m glad you take it the same way.
